The key to determining your goals is to START! Our goals do not become a reality because we fail to start. Begin today by making a list of your goals, doesn’t have to be a long list, list about five to ten things. Now, circle at least two things you can complete by the end of the year.
There are somethings I would recommend when setting your goals. These are things that have been the most difficult for me but also the things that have helped me.
ASK- verb. to make a request of
The initial step of making a list, or framing your goals to the first step to making your goals a reality and that is to ask. To make your request known. Make them known to yourself and make them known to God. “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you” (Luke 11:9). That is the simplest step but often times the hardest because having to answer this question without thinking that it isn’t possible. What do you really want?
BELIEVE- verb. accept (something) as true; feel sure of the truth of.
Whatever you write down, whatever goals you set you must believe it. The greatest poison to your goals is doubt. Many successful people were not concerned with the “how” only that they would accomplish their goals. About a year ago, I read Taraji P. Henson memoir and part of her story to stardom included her moving to Los Angeles to be an actress with a young baby and nearly no money in her pocket and as we know she became a great success. I am not saying drop everything and move to another state, for some you may need too, but for others, you may need to just get off the couch!
RECEIVE- verb. be given, presented with, or paid (something)
Believe that you will receive it. You can be the recipient of everything on your goals list. However, in order to receive you must first ask, and believe that what you asked for you will receive it.
