Manifesting Mondays: Vision Defined

“Don’t let others tell you what you can’t do. Don’t let the limitations of others limit your vision. If you can remove your self-doubt and believe in yourself, you can achieve what you never thought possible.”
― Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart

I wanted to take some time this week to share some points about really defining those goals and turning them into a vision.

5 Keys to Creating a Better Vision for Your Life

1. Determine Your Goals

The first step is determining what your goals are; understanding what your goals are will become the blueprint for your vision, because defining a vision for your life is more than just a list of goals. A vision goes deeper because a goal is the objective and the vision is the destination. The question you need to ask yourself is what is the overall destination you are seeking out for your life?

2. Identify your Core Values

Identifying Core Values are important, it is a model used by most successful companies, and if you want to become a successful person then you need to develop these in your life. Core values are used to determine if you are on the right path and fulfilling the goals you have set out to achieve. Examples of core values include: Dependability, Reliability, and Loyalty. For me, it is consistency. I starve to be consistent in all that I do, it is what I seek in others, and I work hard to mirror that value in myself.

3. Identify your Passions

I believe that passion is what drives us. It is what I believe everyone needs to truly achieve your vision. What is it that gets you excited about life? What are the things that challenge and intrigue you? The goal here is to revive, realize, and develop your passions. Having a clear passion will give you a clear vision.

4. Identify your Purpose

Purpose is a tricky thing. I have read just about everything about purpose, and I realized that purpose is, “the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.” What is your reason? We can create a list of goals, identify our passions, create core values but all of that for what? If you have a reason then you are already unstoppable. I believe that purpose is what makes the vision worth having. Identifying your purpose is the greatest task because it is your why? Why are you doing what you are doing? The great thing about purpose is that life is set up for us to constantly ask why? Why are you working the job you are unhappy at, and not working twice as hard on your own goals? Get your purpose in check and your vision will have an unstoppable foundation.

5. Envision Your Life

Envision your life. The final step is simply putting everything together and seeing your life as though it has already come together the way you wanted. Will it be easy, will things work out the exact way you planned or envisioned the first time or the second time possibly not. The key here is to continue to envision your life as awesome as you did the first time. Remember, vision is defined as, “the ability to think about or plan the future with imagination or wisdom“. Continue to make the steps towards your vision.
